As I sit this morning, my mind and heart are full of gratitude for the people who call The Downtown Church their home. Just a few of the things I have experienced with you in the past weeks:
-
An email that went out for people at the last minute to come and serve at Crosslines and you responded.
-
A new Sunday morning class began.
-
A prayer team that responds faithfully to urgent prayer requests
-
People eating Ben’s chili, then working together to transform our beautiful sanctuary and grounds for the Christmas season. Leaves, leaves, leaves.
-
Youth gathering for a Friendsgiving.
-
Children running upstairs each Sunday to learn they are loved by God. (And be the first to the rolly chair.)
-
The baptism of a child.
-
Hospitality and love extended to a husband and family grieving the sudden death of a beloved woman.
- The Downtown Church Board taking seriously, and humbly, their leadership.
There are so many more thoughts that come tumbling into my mind as I write. I am overwhelmed with how blessed I am to serve with an incredible staff and many, many volunteers who joyfully contribute to The Downtown Church becoming the place where Christ and the community intersect. I am thankful for each of you.
See you Sunday, Lori
