Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

We have a fun tradition here at The Downtown Church. In this season of generosity and looking ahead to 2025, we celebrate the things God is doing here now, and our excitement for the things to come, with a unique kind of worship service.

We started calling it Bluegrass Sunday way back in 2019 at our first one. After a couple year hiatus due to the pandemic, we've had it every year since 2022. So this Sunday will be our 4th Annual Bluegrass Sunday, and boy, is it going to be fun! We'll be doing some old favorites, a new song or two, and we need you all to lift your voices and clap those hands!

And at the end of the service, we will bring our 2025 Pledge Cards forward and pray over them as we embrace the ways God is calling us further into our vision, deeper into loving God and all of our neighbors.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday. Wear those boots. Break out the flannel. Put on that bolo tie. Let's have some fun!

See you Sunday,
Brian

The music will sound a little different this Sunday as we worship with guitars, banjos, and mandolins in our worship. We can't wait to enjoy all the fun this Sunday brings. We will also bring our 2025 Pledge Cards forward as the church plans and prepares its budget and resources for effective ministry, mission, and staffing. If you'd like to make a pledge online, you can do that at this link. We thank you for your generosity over the years and the ways you all partner with us to be a place where Christ and the community intersect.
Our next chance to serve at Crosslines is Wednesday, October 30. There are two shifts that day: 8:45-11:15am and 11:15am-1:45pm. Crosslines is asking us to double our volunteers for these shifts because of the demand they are seeing on a regular basis. If you can help, please let us know, or fill out this quick online form. Thank you for helping us serve our community.

Don't forget! This Sunday, our Parish Nurse, Cindy Whitten, will be checking blood pressures before or after worship in Pastor Brian's office. We are so happy to be able to offer these regular checks every Second Sunday. We promise Cindy is the sweetest nurse ever and she doesn't mind being an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on either!
